Wordless Wednesday: Last mischief of 2013
My 1st post of the new year and it’s about mischief! Hahaha! As you can see he is off by about 10 cm. Typically I would scream at him for marking the walls. With permanent marker no less. The naughty boy also drew a smiley face next to his master piece and that little smiley face reminded me the walls can always be repainted but moments like this can never be recreated. So I laughed and shooed him back to bed. “We will talk about this later.” When the 2 of them (yes, Daddy needed a nap too) woke up at the same time, I broke the news to Daddy.…

Let’s go… Rock climbing!
A little while ago, a bunch of us mums gathered our kids together for a rock climbing session (for kids between 5 to 12 years old) at Kinetics. Xan and I have never tried this before and I was skeptical how he (the boy who thinks wushu with the pole thing is a very violent sport) would respond to it. What if he chickens out at the door? What if he throws a power tantrum and refuse to get out of the car?? With kids ah, you never know when they will suddenly change their opinions about activities or even foods they originally have an aversion to so I took…

Wordless Wednesday: Turning my life upside down
We don’t get to take pictures together as a family very often so these pictures are very precious to me. Thanks to Itchyfingers for sending me these photos taken at Mabel’s daughter’s birthday party. LOVE IT! Linking up with:

Let’s go… Be a Dentist Day at the National Dental Centre
If not for a tip off by a friend, I would have never known about this event organized by the National Dental Centre of Singapore (NDCS) Paediatric Dentistry Department in conjunction with their NDCS Paediatric Dentistry Facebook page‘s 1st anniversary. Xander has yet to visit a dentist at this point because like many parents, since we haven’t had any problems with his teeth, we didn’t think of bringing him to the dentist. My first thought when I saw this was that this would be a wonderful way to introduce to him what a dentist would do during a regular visit! Maybe by his appointment, he wouldn’t be so scared of dentists like I…

Let’s go see… Navy@Vivo
Have you ever been on board of a warship? No, a cruise ship with many noisy fighting children may seem like a warship to you but it is not. I’ve never been on one and never thought I would ever want to because I have Thalassophobia and Claustrophobia. I used to have nightmares being dragged into the sea by some unknown monster/s and getting trapped in tiny spaces. I’m so ma fan (troublesome) right? As parents, The Husband and I try to expose Xan to as many new experiences as possible because we are sadistic want to be advantageous for his sake. We don’t want him to cop out on an…

My 1st Parent Volunteering Experience
So, The Husband had been working as a parent volunteer for a primary school near our home for the last few months. One of the biggest event on the school calendar would be the Children’s Day funfair which is typically headed by the Parent Support Group (PSG) and backed up by parent volunteers like The Husband. Since he had just started his new job the week before, he was not going to be able to help out with the funfair on site as planned. Then how right? Lucky this fella is quite clever and is very nifty with graphics so he volunteered to design all the game stall signage and…

Let’s go… to the Megabugs Return! Exhibition (plus admission tickets giveaway!)
Have you ever imagined coming face to face with bugs that are big as you? You don’t need to imagine lah, just hop over to the Megabugs Return! Exhibition at the Science Centre for an up-close and personal look at the gigantic Aedes mosquito, ants, dung beetles and many more critters this week. I must admit I’m not a fan of the creepy crawlies but somehow when they are magnified to such mega proportions, they really aren’t too bad. This year the Science Centre Singapore presents Megabugs Return! Exhibition from the 20th of April to the 18th of August 2013. The first Megabugs Exhibition was held 20 years ago with 11…

Let’s play… Vegetable stamping!
I had been thinking of doing some vegetable stamping with Xan for quite a long time because we have never done it before. Usually thinking of it after the vegetables end up either in our bellies or in the trash. I only cook We love eating Shanghai Greens and the stems are perfect for the art project. I managed to save all 3 this time and even struck a deal with the Little Man to finish every grain of food and we could do some art and craft after that. I think he barely looked up from his bowl and managed to finish his food in record time. He absolute…

Let’s go to… Malaysia Boleh! at Jurong Point
The Husband and I had an appointment to have brunch with a friend at Jurong Point recently but the place we wanted to go originally wasn’t open yet. By that time both of us were really starving. Hungry breath kind of hungry if you know what I mean. So! We decided to explore the mall while waiting for our friend to arrive and we came across this odd new (opened on 6 October) place called Malaysia Boleh! If you ask me, the food quality and prices didn’t invoke the same kind of enthusiasm as the ‘!’ the owners had happily stamped onto the name. Thankfully it was not crowded so…
